Description

Salmeterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that widens the bronchi so that air passage in the lungs is improved. The effect occurs after 10-20 minutes and lasts for at least 12 hours. Fluticasone propionate is a corticosteroid that counteracts mucus formation and swelling in the airways. This makes it easier to breathe, and if used regularly, symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD ) will be reduced. The effect on the inflammation occurs after 4-7 days. Salmeterol/Fluticasone propionate is used for the maintenance treatment of asthma and COPD when you need both cortisone and a drug that provides long-term dilation of the bronchi.
